Lily is 8 Months Old & Lucy is 2 1/2!!!!!

Lily started trying to crawl on her 8 month birthday! She can get wherever she wants using her army crawl. Her favorite place to crawl is to Mommy while saying ma-ma, ma-ma. She can also say da-da and and is almost saying bye-bye and no-no (probably because she hears it so much from me). Since she is now mobile, she is always trying to get to Lucy and get whatever she is playing with. Lucy is not too fond of this new trick! Even though we haven't found a baby food that Lily likes-she has discovered Puffs. They are her new favorite thing. She thinks she is such a big girl, and loves eating them with Lucy. Life is so busy around here!!!

I can't believe that Lucy is already 2 1/2 years old! She is such a fun, happy, smart and witty little girl! We have the cutest conversations every day. She keeps me laughing! Her favorite color is purple, and she loves to ask everyone she meets "What is your favorite color?". She loves school, reading books, and playing with her dollhouse (she has such a clever imagination). Lucy is the best big sister! We are so proud of how well she has adjusted to Lily's arrival. Yesterday, I heard her tell Lily "Yay, Lily...you did it...I'm so proud of you!"

I keep the biggest smile on my face everyday. We are blessed beyond words to have these two precious girls in our lives!

Birthday Trip To Athens

Carl has been working out of town for the last week. The girls and I decided to load up and go to Athens for a few days (especially since it was my birthday and I didn't want to spend it all alone). All my family came to mom's for birthday dinner Thursday night. It was great...but I missed my sweet husband. Lucy has been asking for him for days. This is the longest he has been gone on a business trip since she was born. He's coming home tomorrow...we can't wait! Pia is going back to Athens tomorrow as well. Thanks for all of your help Mom, you made my week much easier!

How could Lily possibly be 7 months old already?! She rolls and scoots all over the place to get toys/or where she wants to go. There is no more leaving her unattended! We had a wonderful Christmas in Athens. The girls got everything they wanted plus more...teeth! Lily's 2 bottom teeth came in and Lucy got her 2 year molars! We celebrated New Years Eve with Amy and Brian at Jasper's, then finished the night by stopping over at the Ray's for games and champagne!

'Twas The Week Before Christmas

We've had lots of fun things to do. Kathryn and Madi had us over for a gingerbread house decorating party. The kids had a blast! Lucy's class had a Happy Birthday Jesus party. Pia made her weekly trip up, and we finished all of our Christmas shopping. We went over to Meme and Pop's before they left on their trip to CT. Our friends Mike, Lisa and Bowen came over for dinner Sunday night. Bowen is going to have a baby brother in January and we are so excited for them!

Overall, our Santa visit was a success! Lucy sat on Santa's lap last week when I was in the picture, but was not interested in sitting in his lap again. However, she loved his rocking horse! Unfortunately we were unable to get Santa, Lucy and Lily all smiling in one picture, but at least he kept his eyes open in one of them! Today, mom came up and we took Lucy to see "The Gift of Christmas" at Prestonwood Baptist Church. Lucy loved it! Madi and her parents met us there. As is everyone else, we are busy, busy, busy, and having so much fun this time of year!!

Our baby girl is half of a year old already! Where have the first 6 months gone? Lily is the sweetest, happiest baby. She reminds us so much of Lucy. She loves to play in her exersaucer, on the floor with toys and tries to put everything in her mouth. Lucy is back in love with her sister and has been so sweet to share her toys with her, sing songs to her, love on her and hold her hands and dance with her. Lily LOVES any attention Lucy gives her and smiles so big at her! Lucy has been saying lately "What's her tinking Mommy?" Lily got an A+ at her check up and she loved Dr. Newton. She weighs 21 lbs 12oz and is 28.8 inches long. She is going to be a tall girl like her sister!

Our goal this week is pictures with Santa and finalizing plans for Lucy's Christmas party at school.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving at our farm again this year! Carl's parents came, and our friends from London, Nick and Tamy brought their new baby Max for us to meet. Nick is the grandson of my grandmother's pen pal, Hilary. They began writing one another when they were 10 years old. It is so special to have this friendship after all these years. We have been especially blessed this year and are thankful for family, friends and good health.

I can't believe our baby girl is 5 months old already. Lily started rolling over (from front to back and back to front) on her 5 month birthday. She is now reaching for/grabbing toys and chewing on anything she can get her hands on. She is becoming very verbal-making all kinds of new sounds (almost saying Ma-Ma!) including cute little excited squeals. What a fun addition to our family! Lucy is such a good big sister; but she is having a little bit of trouble sharing her toys and the limelight!! I am sure this is normal, but I feel sorry for her sometimes.

We went to another pumpkin patch last weekend with the Kempsons and the Rays and had such a fun time! Lucy helped Daddy and me bake cookies for the first time and decorated them all by herself! She had to try a bite of each one as she decorated them. Next up our annual Arboretum trip and Halloween!!!

Our girls are getting so big and changing so fast. Lily is trying to rolling over some, but mostly enjoys chewing on anything that she can get near her mouth! Lucy continues to amaze us with her ever increasing vocabulary and clever usage. She told me the other night when I laid her down on the changing table that she was laying in a manger. She told Mrs. Jen, "These are my nostrils and nostrils start with N". I thank God everyday for these two beautiful and healthy girls. We are truly blessed!

Pumpkin Patch and Visit to Athens

We went to a Pumpkin Patch with Cason, Corbin and Madi and had so much fun! Mom's birthday was last Friday, so we went to Athens for the weekend to help her celebrate. We had a wonderful time relaxing and seeing our family and friends.

Lily had her 4 month check-up on Monday. She weighs 19lbs 15oz and is 27.3 inches tall! She is our big, healthy, beautiful baby girl!

How can Lily be 4 months old? She is such a good and happy baby. Her new tricks are laughing out loud, reaching/grabbing anything she can get her hands on, and putting her hands in her mouth. She loves watching Lucy and the TV if it is on! She is a great eater (can you tell by her chubby cheeks and legs?) and sleeper. We are on a great schedule which helps so much when you are busy with a toddler too. We go to the doctor for her check up on Monday. I'll post stats next week. I love these two precious girls so much!

Last Thursday was Lucy's first day of Mother's Day Out. The drop off went really well, however she had a pretty rough day. The day was pretty tough for me as well...I missed her so much! This week's drop off was harder, but she had a great rest of the day!

I can't believe that Lily is already 3 months old. Time is flying by so fast! We have been blessed with another healthy, happy and easy going baby. She smiles all the time and is almost laughing out loud!

Last week was really busy and fun! Carl's sister and children from Connecticut are in town. We are having so much fun spending time with them. Lucy started dance class on Wednesday! It is an hour long and the parents sit in the lobby and watch them on monitors. She really liked it and can't wait to go back! On Thursday we had meet the teacher for her Mother's Day Out program. She went straight in and met her teachers ( Mrs. Jen and Mrs. Amy), then played with all of the toys for an hour! I am just praying that this Thursday will go as smoothly.

Our house is full of noise these days. Lucy talks non-stop, and Lily is cooing/talking to us more and more! Here are a few funny things that Lucy said to me this week (I have no clue where she comes up with these things).

"Ye-Haw...I'm cowboy. Daddy is a cowboy and mommy is a horsegirl."

"Mommy, you want to be pretty like me pretty?"

"Mommy, I too busy right now...I'm holding my baby." (I promise I have never told her that I was too busy because I was holding Lily.)

We went to the doctor this week for 2 year and 2 month check ups. Both girls could not have done better and only cried for just a second after their shots. "Little Lily" isn't so little anymore...she is a whopping 16 lbs! She weighs at 2 months what Lucy weighed at 4 months!! Dr. Newton thinks this will level out soon. Lucy is in the 97 percentile for height! She pulled out all the stops and really showed off for Dr. Newton. He was really impressed with her vocabulary. We feel so blessed to have 2 healthy girls.

We are celebrating Lucy's 2nd birthday this weekend with a belated party. She is so excited!

Lucy had such a fun birthday! Carl took the day off to spend with us. We started out the day going to the library to story hour. She has been asking to go to the library for a week now (she saw a show about it on TV). Mother Goose was there today! She had a blast and kept saying "I go to the library to look at books...lots of fun"! Meme and Pop cam over for dinner and birthday cake. It was a great ending to a fun day!

We are staying BUSY at our house these days! I can't believe that my first baby is about to be 2 years old. Lucy is the sweetest little girl...no signs of the "terrible twos" yet! She says the cutest things and is so witty. I smile and laugh at her all day long! Lily is a sweet girl too. We are working vigorously on getting her on a schedule. She has slept for six hours straight several nights now!!! And best of all...she has started smiling at us consistently this week!

My, how quickly the month has flown by! We are more in love with Lily each day. Last week was busy and fun. We had Kathryn, Madi and Denisa (Madi's Grandmommy) over for lunch one day, and then Grammy, K-T-Bug, Hadley and Ella came up to see us and to celebrate Grammy's 81st birthday! Now we are getting ready for a big Fourth of July weekend!

We've had another great week at home. Carl has been off for the past 2 weeks which has been wonderful! We took Lily for her 2 week Dr. appointment and she now weighs 9lbs 5oz and is 21 inches long (she has grown 2 inches). Lucy is absolutely crazy about Lily! She asked to hold her for the first time this week and loves to "help" us out with her.

Lily's First Week at Home

We are adjusting to life as a family of four now and as such, are busy, tired and so very blessed. Lucy is loving Lily more and more everyday! My favorite things that Lucy has said this week are: "Isn't her cute?", "Lucy loves Lily", "Hear dat baby cry?", "Look at that sweet baby". She is going to be such a good big sister! Carl has been the biggest help (just like he was when Lucy was a newborn)...I couldn't do it without him. We also blessed to have four wonderful grandparents helping out as well.

Baby Lily Is Here!

Lily McLean Harrison was born on Thursday, June 2 at 1:31pm weighing 8 lbs, 10.9 oz. She was 19 inches long and has a head full of beautiful hair! We are so grateful to God for a second healthy little girl. Labor was much shorter than with Lucy with only one small complication...Lily's collar bone was fractured during delivery due to a small bout with shoulder dystocia. Thank God that a broken clavicle was the only bad thing that happened as a result of the tough delivery as shoulder dystocia can be life-threatening!

Memorial Day Weekend

We had a fun and relaxing weekend. Lucy helped Carl make the final preparations for Lily. Saturday afternoon our friends Mike, Lisa and Bowen came over for dinner. The kids had so much fun playing, and we had fun catching up! On Monday Meme and Pop came over for lunch and brought Lucy lots of fun Memorial Day props which she loved!

Trial Run To The Hospital

Yesterday, I went to my regular weekly appointment. Dr. Watkins thinks that Lily weighs over 7lbs already!!! After listening to her heartbeat, she thought it wasn't as "perky" as it should be and sent me over to the hospital for most of the day for monitoring. We are back home and doing great now! Lucy's favorite part of the hospital visit was Mommy's "pretty bracelets"!
